Ground-breaking can be a tricky philosophical matter.

What if after the first guitarist amplified his guitar, all the other guitarists thought “Gee, now I can’t play electric guitar in my band. He’s already done that. We can’t copy them.”

What if after the first rock band played live in an arena, all the other bands thought “Damn, now they’ve done that. We can’t copy them.”

What if after the first scratcher scratched, or the first rapper rapped, all the other wannabe musicians thought “Shoot, now we can’t do that. We can’t copy them.”

That would be silly! And yet – -

- – all too often, we’ve heard other musicians say “I wish I had thought of the Pure Pleasure Process! It’s genius! We can’t copy it.”

Oh but you can.
